for wauuu
Yuuri cracks open his eyes, blearily, to an unfamiliar ceiling. His head feels like it's either on fire or full of bees or possibly both and his stomach does a slow, sickening roll as he opens his eyes, but it settles, at least for the time being. Not just his head but everything hurts enough that, at least at first, he more just moves on auto-pilot, looking around for his glasses and taking what is obviously a pair of Paracetamol on the bedside table. There's a little note with them but he doesn't parse either the message or recognize the handwriting, so he just drinks about half the glass of water and looks around.
Memories leak back in slowly-- Vicchan, the competition, calling his mom, going back to the room, Celestino insisting that he had to go to the banquet afterwards, possibly worried he was going to do something stupid if he didn't. But he remembered saying no and refusing to open the door. So... shouldn't he be in the hotel room?
This is not the hotel room.
In fact, he swears he's seen this room before, somewhere, actually, but he's too tired and bleary to figure out where. So he just walks over to the bathroom, which he, for some reason, is able to guess the location of, and splashes water on his face rubs at it until he somewhat resembles a human being, and then goes in search of more clues to where he is.
The bedroom door creaks open and there's another sense of deja-vu as he looks around the apartment it opens on, but the pieces refuse to slot into place.
"He-Hello?"

Yuuri has no idea what expression is on his face. It's probably a bit like a deer in headlights combined with lightbulbs going on. He can hear every time he's said he didn't know why he was here, how this was happening, and how every time he kept following it with how happy he was to be there. He hasn't understood why it's made Victor go all soft-eyed each time. And now he does.
"I'm not really any different, fundamentally, I guess. I have no idea why me of all people. But... what kind of idiot turns down a chance with Victor Nikiforov?"
He realizes after he says it that he might have just said that looking into the eyes of someone who turned down a chance with Victor Nikiforov, actually. But somehow he's pretty sure that's not how that went down, based on the conversation he'd heard a snippet of.

"Not a you kind of idiot, that's clear!" Chris laughs, "Besides, isn't it better to not be someone's type? I still don't understand what that guy meant. I want to be admired for my uniqueness, not lumped into a category with all the rest!"
no subject
But he does feel like everything he adds isn't all the unique.
"I guess... if you feel like you have something unique to be admired for, that makes sense. I want to believe I have that but..." he sighs, shakes his head, has another sip of the wine, a little larger this time, "No. It doesn't matter. Even if everything goes wrong as soon as I leave Russia, everything's that happened would still be worth it."
no subject
There's a loud breathe of relief from Victor as he's returning from the shower, clean casual clothes on and his towel strung over his shoulders. From down the hall, Victor coos, "I hope you didn't tell him anything embarrassing!" Which Chris quickly calls back with, "Of course, I did!" And Victor groans as dramatically as possible.
no subject
"That'll teach you to leave me with people without asking my opinion on the matter. Particularly if the person is Chris!" considering he'd just had a panic attack about it, there's maybe a little bit of a sharpness to it, but he's at least trying to tease and not fuss, make it more about embarrassing Victor than embarrassing himself.
no subject
"Did he try and scare you? He just wantd to take you for himself, don't trust him!" Victor says all this, playfully looking Chris directly in the face. Chris just snaps his teeth in response, like a hungry piranha.

What the two of them are playing like their conversation was and what it really was are so different that Yuuri can't really keep up or think of anything to say. The one comment was easy, but he's not really good at banter and the truth is that the conversation was really a lot darker all around and he's not sure how he feels about any of what happened.
no subject
A grumble as Chris taps on his phone before saying his flight got moved up, he had to get going. "We'll have plenty of fun without you, don't worry,"
no subject
He maybe has a sappy little look on his face while Victor goes to fiddle with tea, before he's blinking at Chris. Oh yeah, it wasn't like Chris lived here in Russia, either. And he's suddenly aware that maybe Chris stayed after to hang out with Victor and he's stolen him away. He feels wretched about that for about... ten seconds, before he remembered that they fought over him, apparently, and then he's blushing again. Of course, he was supposed to be gone yesterday, but even so...
And then the idea hits him and his out of his mouth before he has a chance to think it through, because he does feel like Chris deserves more out of this than a wave and the lock of a door behind him,
"The next time we're in the same city, let me take you out to dinner somewhere to make up for your missed dinner yesterday," the grin over his wine glass is almost a smirk, and he doesn't dare look at Victor, "It won't be somewhere near as fancy as Victor would have taken you, I'm sure, but I do feel bad. And I want to thank you for the advice."
no subject
"I'm holding you to that! With any luck, it'll be a celebration dinner for me finally beating this one," a thumb point back to Victor, who gives a single ha!. Chris' attention doesn't drift from Yuuri, though.
"And friend me on social media! I use everything. I want to pick your brain on improving my step sequence. You had the best one in the Grand Prix, don't let me forget," his phone is going off again, probably an angry coach. He gives Yuuri a pat on the shoulder and a wink for a farewell gesture, practically jumping into Victor's arms for his. They say farewells in French and he's hurrying out not long after.
no subject
And then it's back to just Victor and him and the silence of the apartment. He takes a nervous sip of his wine, though he can't quite say why the atmosphere seems tense suddenly. It's probably just someone leaving and the liminal space between. Hopefully Victor knows how to fill that.
Well, That leads to some thoughts that brings pink up into Yuuri's cheeks and he's glad that as far as he knows, Victor isn't also a mind-reader.

"Are you hungry? I could heat up those leftovers,"
no subject
"Food is probably good," he doesn't have much of an appetite, just yet, but it's probably coming once his body remembers he's been skating and then having sex on the floor. He really hasn't eaten enough to make up for how many calories he's been burning, certainly, and while that's likely good for the slight bit of pudge he's put on leading up to the finals, it's definitely going to leave him hungrier than normal, when he can pay attention to things like that.
A moment later, he can't help but to grin at Victor, watching him while he moves around the kitchen,
"I don't want today to end," it's almost said dreamily.
no subject
"Every moment has been divine, Yuuri," he's so sincerely confident to say that, going through his refrigerator and pulling out their previous meal to toss into the microwave. "I want to keep sharing these days with you, I really do,"
no subject
He needs food, is also exhausted, but no, it's not too much, because he's thinking about it too-- once they're done eating, curling up in bed and lazily having another round, slow, blurring into sleep. It sounds like the perfect ending to a perfect day. So he's not trying to start anything now, but there's already a little bit of that promise coloring his expressions and his tone, the way he watches Victor move around the kitchen.
no subject
"Are you terribly sore by now? Being on the receiving end took me a lot of getting used to, but you seem just fine!" Spoken with that playful tone of jealousy.
no subject
Yuuri flushes at that and squirms because the barstool is actually a little uncomfortable, yeah, he just didn't want to stand up anymore.
"It feels weird and I'm a little sore, but it's not too bad," really, he's probably in every bit as much pain as Victor was in when he first did this, but Yuuri's so used to his whole body being in pain and having to fight through it for every jump, every tumble onto the ice, that this hardly registers. "It's worth it," there a little bit of heat curling into his words there, even though he's blushing.
no subject
"It took me a while to learn my own body, you seem more in tune!"
no subject
"Maybe we could eat on the sofa, though?" he will use puppy dog eyes if he has to, Victor.
no subject
""Go ahead, I'll follow shortly, it's almost done," no need for puppy dog eyes, Victor just needs to stir the noodles and get them another minute, then he'll be over to the couch with Yuuri.
no subject
He kind of flees to the living room after that, but it's at least a good time for it.
no subject
"Hahaa, what does this remind me of..." He hums a moment, grinning, "oh! That Disney movie! With the two dogs!"
no subject
"Are you the lady or the tramp?" he sounds like he finds either answer a bit unbelievable, but he does lean in and let Victor feed him, even though it makes the blush rise on his cheeks again. It's kind of... weirdly nice, letting Victor do something like that, settles warm in his abdomen with something that's definitely desire, but different somehow, more mellow, maybe? He's not sure. It's arousing, but not in a way that makes him want to do anything about it.

It's good, though, good enough that he relaxes into it, even though it feels a little bit silly, doesn't reach for his own fork until Victor tires of it (if he even does-- if he doesn't Yuuri's fork will go unused, he's definitely not going to protest)
"What's something you haven't been called?" it's both curious and a little teasing.
